We are thrilled to announce that Definition Health has been accepted into the prestigious Tampa Bay Wave HealthTech|X Accelerator programme, marking a significant milestone as we continue to expand our presence in the United States.
This unique programme, a collaboration between Tampa Bay Wave and the University of South Florida (USF), is tailored to support and propel innovative health tech companies. It is backed by prominent sponsors such as the U.S. Economic Development Administration, USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation, Florida High Tech Corridor, Foley & Lardner LLP, and Levo Health, in partnership with USF Research & Innovation and the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council.
The Tampa Bay Wave HealthTech|X Accelerator officially launched in July 2024 with 15 innovative companies dedicated to advancing healthcare technology. The accelerator’s goal is to support the growth of health tech companies and foster innovation within the industry. Dr. Richard Munassi, Accelerator Managing Director, commented on the exceptional credentials of this year’s participants: “The HealthTech|X cohort is one of our strongest yet. These founders are not only addressing key healthcare challenges through their innovative technologies, they truly are strong founders solving real problems for patients, providers, and payors. This news follows our recent successful Florida trade mission in June as part of the 2024 US Accelerator Programme, organised by the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI). Paul Carson, our US Head of Commercial, represented Definition Health in forging connections and exploring opportunities within the US healthcare market. This mission, which included visits to key institutions such as Nemours Children’s Hospital, Orlando Health, and Moffitt Cancer Center, provided invaluable insights and opened up promising discussions for establishing US partnerships.
Dr. Chauhan is travelling to Tampa this month to participate in the accelerator programme’s kick-off and engage directly with the local health tech community in Florida. His presence will be instrumental in refining our North American strategies, forging valuable partnerships, and exploring new avenues for collaboration and growth. “Being on the ground in Tampa allows us to tap into one of the most dynamic healthtech hubs in the US. We are eager to build meaningful connections and accelerate our growth in this vibrant market,” Chauhan added.
