We are proud to announce that Definition Health has been awarded its eighth national accolade, securing the Partnership Award at the HSJ Awards 2024. This prestigious recognition highlights our continued commitment to improving patient outcomes through digital health technology within the NHS.
The award, celebrated at the HSJ Awards ceremony in London, recognizes our successful partnership with Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, where we introduced our Definition LifeBox app. This innovative solution allows patients to complete their pre-operative assessments from the comfort and safety of their own homes, contributing significantly to patient care and operational efficiency.
The HSJ Awards are regarded as the ‘Oscars of the health industry’ and are one of the most esteemed accolades of healthcare service excellence in the UK.
Definition Health, founded by Sussex-based NHS consultants Sandeep Chauhan and Dr. Rosie Scott in 2018, launched LifeBox, a digital pre-assessment app, at The Montefiore Hospital in Hove. Since then, our digital solutions have enabled more than 175,000 patients across 10 NHS Trusts and six independent hospitals to access pre- and post-operative health assessments and monitoring from their homes.
The LifeBox app, introduced to Royal Surrey in May last year, has transformed how patients prepare for surgery. The app generates tailored questions based on individual risk levels, ensuring patients are ‘surgery-ready’. Additionally, two-way file sharing between the Trust and patients allows for the secure exchange of critical information such as test results, fasting advice, and more. This digital process has also proven invaluable for early detection of medical concerns, such as high blood pressure or anaemia, improving patient outcomes and preventing last-minute surgery cancellations.
We are thrilled to continue expanding our impact and working closely with the NHS to deliver digital health solutions that enhance patient care and streamline hospital operations.
