Double win at HSJ Patient Safety Awards for virtual ward solution

We are proud to congratulate our client, the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC), for their outstanding achievements at the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Patient Safety Awards 2024. SWLEOC’s dedication to enhancing patient safety and embracing digital innovation was recognised with multiple awards, thanks to the advanced technology provided by Definition Health.

On the night, SWLEOC received the following accolades: Virtual or Remote Care Initiative of the Year and Safety Improvement through Technology Award. They were also highly commended for Patient Safety in Elective Recovery, further emphasising their commitment to excellence in patient care.

At the core of these achievements is Definition Health’s LifeBox and Definition Recovery platforms, which have transformed SWLEOC’s approach to surgical care. Our digital solutions have enabled SWLEOC to develop a highly effective, remote post-operative monitoring system that reduces the need for in-person appointments, alleviates patient anxiety, and optimises clinical capacity.

The nomination and subsequent wins were based on a comprehensive study conducted at SWLEOC, demonstrating the significant impact of Definition Health’s technology on reducing surgery cancellations and improving recovery outcomes. The study provided robust evidence on how our LifeBox and Definition Recovery solutions have enabled real-time communication between patients and clinicians, resulting in safer, more personalised care.
